About Us

United forRhode Island

Our mission is uniting our community and resources to build racial equity and opportunities for all Rhode Islanders.

Our mission

United Way of Rhode Island unites our community and resources to build racial equity and opportunities for all Rhode Islanders. We go deep, rather than wide, targeting the root causes that have thwarted Rhode Island’s ability to thrive — while continuing to serve all Rhode Islanders in need.

Our history

United Way of Rhode Island has served the state for more than 95 years, growing from a wartime community fund into the statewide organization behind 211, workplace giving, and grantmaking to hundreds of local nonprofits.
