- Information you give us. When you donate, subscribe to our newsletter, register for an event, apply for a grant, or contact us, we collect the details you provide — such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, employer, and payment information.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our analytics providers collect standard log data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page, date and time) and use cookies and similar technologies to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
How we use information
- To process donations and send receipts and acknowledgements.
- To send newsletters, campaign updates, and other communications you request, and to let you opt out at any time.
- To respond to your questions and administer programs, events, and grants.
- To operate, secure, analyze, and improve the website.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Service providers
We share information with vendors that perform services on our behalf, under agreements that limit their use of it. These include our donation and pledge processor, our email platform (Mailchimp), our 2-1-1 resource and messaging platform (iCarol), mapping and font providers, and website analytics providers. We do not sell your personal information.
When we disclose information
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety, or property of United Way, our community, or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction.
Your choices
- Email. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link; you can also email us to be removed.
- Cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; some site features may not work without them.
- Access and correction. Contact us to review, update, or delete the information we hold about you, subject to legal and recordkeeping requirements.
Data security & retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, and retain it only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
