ALICE is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, and represents the growing number of families who are unable to afford the basics of housing, child care, food, transportation, health care, and technology. These workers often struggle to keep their own households from financial ruin, while keeping our local communities running.

Apply for Grants

United Way of Rhode Island is now accepting sponsorship applications for the current fiscal year.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis at the beginning of each month. We encourage organizations to submit requests as early as possible — ideally up to six months in advance of their event — to allow adequate time for review and planning.

401Gives was launched to strengthen Rhode Island's nonprofit community.

Our strategic goals include both increasing the number of Rhode Island nonprofits in stable financial conditions and increasing the amount of Rhode Island households that contribute to charities.
