Put Your Talentsto Work

United Way of Rhode Island’s Volunteer Center connects you with local nonprofits that need a hand — for an afternoon, for a season, or for a seat on a board.

The Volunteer Center is a shared noticeboard for the whole state. Rhode Island nonprofits post what they need help with, and you search it by what you care about, where you are, and when you are free. The opportunities are theirs; the platform that carries them is ours.

How it works

  1. Make an account. It is free, and it is what lets an organization get back to you once you put your hand up.
  2. Find something that fits. Filter by interest and distance, and narrow to what suits you — family friendly, wheelchair accessible, outdoors, virtual, or something a whole team can do together.
  3. Sign up for the slot. You will see the date, the time, how many places are left, and who to ask if you have a question.
  4. Show up. The organization takes it from there — they are the ones running the project, and your sign-up goes straight to them.
